При этом, мажорно прощаясь с должностью, он высоко оценил свою деятельность на посту руководителя города, присвоив практически все достижения городской громады за последние почти три десятка лет.
«Из небольшого городка мы превратили Ильичевск (Черноморск) в современный комфортный город с развитой инфраструктурой и социальной сферой. Построено 30 современных предприятий, достойное развитие получила территория порта, «ожил» ИСРЗ, на новый уровень вышел рыбный порт.
Бюджет города с 5 миллионов в 1995 увеличился до 1 миллиарда в 2019, а объем промышленного производства вырос с 30 миллионов грн. до 6 миллиардов»- написал в Фейсбуке уходящий мэр.
Отметим, что ранее Валерий Хмельнюк избирался мэром Черноморска шесть раз.
